For the Mission of the Church

"The Spirit of the Lord has been given to me,
for he has anointed me.
He has sent me to bring the good news to the poor,
to proclaim liberty to captives
and to the blind new sight,
to set the downtrodden free,
to proclaim the Lord’s year of favour."

Luke 4:18-19

By his words and actions, Jesus revealed himself as the one who liberates and saves. Following Him, we play our part with others –children, young people and adults-in creating conditions which enable people to liberate themselves and to live more open and loving relationships.

Rule of Life, Article 10

Our involvement in mission is often expressed through simple human gestures apparently without significance. ‘As you did it to one of the least of these my
Brethren, you did it to me.’

Matthew 25:40

As Daughters of the Holy Spirit, we participate in the mission of the church according to our own charism, in fidelity to the teachings of the universal church and in liaison with the diocesan church.

Rule of Life11

Each community in its own locality takes part in the mission of the congregation in the church. It discerns its own way of incarnating the charism according to our choices for mission.

For us there is no mission without adoration, without calling upon the Spirit to renew the face of the earth.
